Jim Corbett National Park Nainital


Jim Corbett National Park Nainital spread over 600 sq. kms. The park is situated along the banks of the Ramganga River. Jim Corbett National name after Colonel Jim Corbett who was born at Nainital in 1875.(Who devoted most of his time in developing this park).
Jim Corbett National Park Nainital was the first to be designated a Project Tiger Reserve in 1973. The Corbett National Park Situated at a distance of around 280 kms from Delhi and around 125 kms from Nainital,
The best time to visit Jim Corbett National Park is February to May. This Park is one of the most popular wildlife sanctuaries in India. Many animals like elephants, tigers, leopards, monkey, antelopes, sambhar, jackal, fox and chital. Etc are spread over an area of around 300 sq km the core area of the park.
This park was declared a tiger reserve in 1973 under the Project Tiger. Elephant safari and Jeep safari are two main ways of discovering diverse flora and fauna at the Jim Corbett National Park.


How to Reach Jim Corbett National Park:
Pantnagar is the earest airport which is around 50 kilometres away and the nearest railway station is Ramnagar railway station. There are two main train from delhi to Ramnagar railway station is Ranikhet Express the time of Ranikhet Express from old Delhi railway station is 10: 40 which arrive ramnagar at 4:55 morning (Slip Route).
Jim Corbett National Park is well connected by road like haldwani, nainital etc.

Sightseeing at Nainital

Nainital is a one of the most beautiful hill station of Uttrakhand (Kumaon Hill). Nainital hill station is surrounded by mountains on three sides. The total area of Nainital is around Area 11.73 sq. km, Altitude is 1938 metres above the sea level. There are basically three languages of Nainital city Hindi, Kumaoni and English.

Following are the main Sightseeing at Nainital:

Snow View – It is at 2,270 meters above sea level, Snow View is an excellent view of the northern Himalayan ranges. From the top of Snow View, with the help of binoculars, a close up view of Nanda Devi, one of the highest peaks in the country is visible.

Hanuman Garhi – Only 3 kilo meters south of Tallital is Hanuman Garhi, where there is a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman.

Naini Peak – It is just 5 kilo meters from the lake lays the Naina Peak. At 2,611 metres, Naini Peak is the highest peak bordering the lake.

Tiffin Top: It is also known as Dorothy’s Seat. It is around four kilo meters to the west of the lake.

Bhimtal: Around 24 kilo meters away from Nainital, Bhimtal is larger than Naini Lake which sports a beautiful island.

Naukuchiatal : Around 27 kilo meters away from Nainital, Naukuchiatal is a vast nine-cornered lake, pleasant where migratory birds collect.

Sat Tal: Around 25 km away from Nainital city, Sat Tal is a complex of seven natural lakes.
